The project is entering a new phase of execution after the completion of technical and geophysical studies in the area of terraces and caves. According to the council, the works are expected to be finished this summer.
Currently, the work focuses on assembling the metal structure of the future panoramic walkway, one of the project's most notable elements, as well as initial plantings to advance the environmental integration of the surroundings.
In recent weeks, land preparation, slope stabilization, and foundation work have been carried out to adapt the project to the characteristics of the Castle's hillside. The final design of the metal superstructure for the walkway, whose installation has already begun, has also been validated. This infrastructure will complete a pedestrian route around the Castle and offer new panoramic views of the municipality.
The project also includes the execution of drainage, lighting, and irrigation systems, as well as new paths over the terraces that will connect different areas of the park and improve accessibility.
The Garden of a Thousand and One Nights is part of the municipal project called Green Lung, an urban development strategy that includes the creation of over 90,000 square meters of connected green spaces around the Castle and city entrances. The initiative aims to recover degraded areas, connect different neighborhoods, and create new leisure and community zones linked to Onda's historical heritage.
