A traffic light has fallen on the main road in Xàtiva, specifically on a stretch of Alameda near the post office, after being hit by a municipal cleaning truck. The incident has led Local Police to cordon off the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.
According to consulted municipal sources, a Local Police patrol identified the fallen traffic light on the roadway during surveillance duties. Subsequent investigations determined that the damage may have been caused by a cleaning truck belonging to the municipal cleaning company FCC, which allegedly struck the traffic light's support.
Given the existing risk, particularly due to the potential exposure of electrical installation elements, the area was cordoned off with police tape. It was also confirmed that the traffic light opposite shows a break in its upper pole, making its inspection and prompt replacement advisable to prevent further risks.
The Xàtiva City Council has telephonically notified the company responsible for the maintenance of the traffic light network to proceed with the repair of the observed damages.
