Marina Alta Mobilizes: Indefinite Teachers' Strike with Demonstrations

The Coordinator of teachers' assemblies in the region has agreed on a calendar of mobilizations for the first week of the educational strike.

Teachers in Marina Alta have agreed on a calendar of mobilizations including pickets at schools and demonstrations in Dénia, Xàbia, and Pedreguer, in addition to participating in marches in València and Alicante, as part of the indefinite strike starting next Monday.

The Coordinator of teachers' assemblies of Marina Alta has concluded an assembly process to define the actions for the unprecedented educational strike beginning on Monday, May 11. After several votes, a calendar of regional mobilizations has been established for the first week of the strike, running from May 11 to 15.
On Monday, May 11, teachers will hold informational pickets at educational centers until 9:30 AM (7:45 AM at IES and 8:45 AM at CEIP), before joining the demonstration in Alicante. On Tuesday, May 12, in addition to pickets, there will be a poster campaign in towns and an in-person regional assembly at an agreed location in Marina Alta at 10 AM.
For Wednesday, May 13, informational pickets are planned, and in the afternoon, a regional demonstration in Dénia at 7 PM, departing from Jaume I square. On Thursday, May 14, mobilizations will move to Xàbia, with a concentration at 10 AM in Parc Montaner and informational pickets at the market. At 12 PM, there will be a concentration in the Plaça de l'Església. In Pedreguer, a regional demonstration has been scheduled for 7 PM, pending confirmation.
The week will culminate on Friday, May 15, with a unitary demonstration in València, for which bus departures will be organized from Torrecremada. Seat reservations close on Tuesday. Mobilizations for the second week of the strike, from May 18 to 22, will be decided at the regional assembly on Tuesday, in coordination with national actions.
