This action is part of a modernization and improvement process for the material and human resources of the city's police force. The total investment for this acquisition amounts to 340,000 euros, distributed among two vans and an all-terrain pick-up vehicle. Of this, 182,000 euros correspond to the vans and 157,000 euros to the all-terrain vehicle, all contracted through a leasing agreement that includes maintenance for four years.
These new units will reinforce various service functions, such as the traffic unit, the aerial drone unit, and the canine unit, in addition to supporting community policing efforts in neighborhoods. The renewal is part of a plan initiated over a year ago, with an investment exceeding one million euros for more than twenty new vehicles.

Regarding personnel, 12 new officers and one inspector have recently joined, and six more agents will soon be incorporated on secondment. Furthermore, a selective process has been called to fill 17 new positions, which will increase the staff by 23 personnel to reach a projected total of 190 agents.
The chief commissioner highlighted the value of the incorporated technology, especially the use of drones, which facilitate crowd control at events, improve traffic management, and allow for quicker action in emergencies. For her part, the Councilor for Protection, Security, and Coexistence thanked the daily work of the Local Police and reiterated the city council's commitment to continue improving material and technical resources with investments in uniforms, radios, and video surveillance systems, including body cameras.
