This cultural initiative, with free admission, will take place at 7:00 PM in Conference Room 1-4 of the campus. The event aims to recover the memory of a group of women transferred in 1974 from the Pare Jofré Psychiatric Hospital, known as the Jesús asylum, to the new Bétera Psychiatric Hospital in Valencia.
Many of these women, some having been institutionalized for over three decades, arrived at Bétera without medical records and, in some cases, even without a recognized identity. The film and subsequent debate seek to dignify their history and the work of the professionals who accompanied them in the process of recovering their dignity and, for some, their names.
The discussion will feature actress Aurèlia Lerma, feminist, psychiatrist, and author of the book Nueve nombres, María Huertas, and the film's director and co-producer, Pau García, who will share their perspectives on this moving story.
