The session, held at the Casa de Cultura, brought together municipal officials from areas affected by the DANA, as well as representatives from emergency services and security forces. The mayor of Utiel welcomed attendees and highlighted the commendable work of the personnel and the decisive actions taken during the floods of October 29, 2024.
The importance of these joint working groups was emphasized to facilitate decision-making in critical moments and strengthen coordination between administrations, especially in emergency scenarios like those recently experienced.

One of the central themes of the day was the need to strengthen public preparedness for risk situations. In this regard, the commissioner for Recovery stressed the importance of promoting self-protection training, especially among children and adolescents, so they know how to act in the event of a catastrophe.
For her part, the commissioner of the Central Government for the DANA highlighted the need to maintain direct contact with local administrations to understand their real needs and provide them with tools and guidelines adapted to each situation.
During the session, the Generalitat presented the four most relevant risks in the Valencian Community: floods, forest fires —with an average of about 500 per year—, seismic risk, especially in the south of the territory, and the transport of dangerous goods by road. Existing planning instruments to address these situations, such as the Territorial Emergency Plan and Special Plans, were also detailed.
