Nearly a hundred local police officers from the Valencian Community, Catalonia, and Aragon have participated in a training day on environmental protection and animal welfare, organized by the Local Police Training School (EFOPOL) in Vila-real.

The session, held on April 9, 2026, at the EFOPOL premises, was inaugurated by the mayor of Vila-real, José Benlloch; the councilor for Public Safety and Emergencies, Toni Marín; and the superintendent of the Local Police and head of EFOPOL, Ramón Martínez.
During the workshop, led by environmental protection expert José Luís Álvarez Pic, crucial topics for municipal police action were addressed. These included illegal dumping, animal abuse and abandonment, wildlife control, waste management, and interventions in forest fires.

"It is essential to continue training our officers in areas such as the environment and animal welfare, because these are issues that increasingly generate more problems and conflicts in municipalities. We need prepared police officers to provide effective responses adapted to the current reality."

Superintendent Ramón Martínez highlighted EFOPOL's commitment to quality training, emphasizing the importance of offering knowledge in sensitive areas that directly impact citizen coexistence. He also assured that the training is delivered by top-level professionals to guarantee maximum rigor and practical utility.
With this initiative, EFOPOL consolidates its position as a benchmark in the continuous training of local police forces, adapting its content to the new needs and challenges faced by municipalities today.
