The city of Vila-real will host the XVIII Tapas Route from April 16 to May 3, with the participation of 15 establishments offering innovative and charitable culinary proposals.

The XVIII Tapas Route in Vila-real is firmly established as a key event in the local calendar, combining economic promotion, culinary creativity, and social commitment. This initiative, taking place from April 16 to May 3, aims to boost local consumption and strengthen the role of the hospitality sector in the city.
Promoted by the Hospitality Department of the Vila-real City Council and the Vila-real Hospitality and Leisure Association (ASHIOVI), this gastronomic route is the oldest of its kind in the province. The Councillor for Hospitality, Xus Madrigal, has encouraged both residents and visitors to join an experience that, as he highlighted, reflects the quality, diversity, and creativity of local cuisine.
Each of the 15 participating venues will present two tapas: one of free creation, showcasing its culinary identity, and a second tapa featuring orange as the main ingredient, in homage to one of the region's most representative products. The route will be available from Thursday to Sunday, with general hours from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00, although each establishment may adapt its schedule. The price will be 5 euros per tapa, including a drink.
The public will also play an active role by voting for their favorite tapas using traditional 'tapaports'. For a vote to be valid, a minimum number of stamps must be collected from different establishments, a measure designed to encourage visits to multiple venues and increase public engagement.

"This initiative is much more than gastronomy, as it also represents the social commitment of Vila-real's hospitality sector."

Emilio Miralles · President of ASHIOVI
One of the distinguishing features of this edition is its charitable aspect. Each establishment will make an economic contribution, and the total proceeds will go to the 1PEPA Association (Un petit pas), dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with Prader-Willi syndrome. This social dimension has accompanied the event throughout its history, placing solidarity at the heart of the occasion.
In addition to the popular vote, the best proposals will also receive recognition from a professional jury. The awards ceremony will be held on May 27 at the Gran Casino de Vila-real, in an event that will acknowledge the work of the participating establishments and nearly two decades of an initiative that is now part of the city's gastronomic identity.
