The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon during a control operation for personal mobility vehicles (PMVs). The driver ignored an order to stop and fled at high speed through several city streets, including areas near the beach and the town hall.
Officers managed to locate and apprehend the driver without any personal incidents. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was found to have technical alterations allowing it to exceed permitted speeds significantly. The maximum recorded speed of 104 km/h was verified by the police's metrology equipment.
The operation resulted in the detection of numerous serious infractions. The driver has been fined for reckless driving, operating without insurance, and lacking a vehicle registration certificate.
