Benidorm Local Police have intercepted a manipulated scooter that reached a speed of 104 km/h during a chase of over two kilometers through the city center.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon during a control operation for personal mobility vehicles (PMVs). The driver ignored an order to stop and fled at high speed through several city streets, including areas near the beach and the town hall.
Officers managed to locate and apprehend the driver without any personal incidents. Upon inspecting the vehicle, it was found to have technical alterations allowing it to exceed permitted speeds significantly. The maximum recorded speed of 104 km/h was verified by the police's metrology equipment.
