The National Police have arrested twelve individuals in Dénia for the alleged sale of counterfeit clothing and goods, primarily sports kits, at market stalls.

The operation began following information received about the potential sale of branded counterfeit items, which were in high demand, including kits for football teams and national selections. Officers established a discreet surveillance operation around the street market held on Mondays in the Parc de Torrecremada area.
Inspections revealed that various stalls were selling branded textile items and handbags at prices lower than the originals. A joint operation was set up with the Local Police of Dénia and a judicial expert.
During twelve inspections of different market stalls, a total of 2,277 items were seized. Consequently, those responsible were arrested as alleged perpetrators of an intellectual property crime.
The police proceedings have been brought to the attention of the local courts.
