The Benissa City Council, through its public company Benissa Impuls, has modernized the heated municipal pool with an innovative digital water treatment and control system. This initiative reinforces the municipality's commitment to health, sustainability, and technological innovation, following previous improvements such as the cold plasma air treatment system introduced during the COVID-19 health crisis.
The new technology, developed by Geodesic Innovations and incorporating electroporation and advanced oxidation processes, physically eliminates microorganisms. This avoids the need for traditional methods relying on intensive chemical use, offering users a healthier swimming experience with crystal-clear water, free from chlorine odor or taste, and reducing discomforts like eye and skin irritation or allergic reactions.
The intelligent management platform Watersite® continuously monitors key parameters in real-time, including pH, conductivity, turbidity, filter pressure, and disinfection levels. This remote control facilitates early detection of issues, optimizes facility operation, and ensures constant compliance with health standards.
In terms of sustainability, the new technology reduces the required replacement water by up to 80%, leading to energy savings by decreasing the daily water heating load and thus lowering the facility's carbon footprint. Furthermore, process automation is expected to reduce water treatment maintenance tasks by approximately 30%.
Through this investment, Benissa solidifies its dedication to innovation, public health, and efficient resource management, enhancing services for citizens and minimizing the environmental impact of its facilities.
