Four higher vocational training students from Xàtiva and Albaida are participating in an international cooperation program in Bolivia, completing their practical training and fostering global solidarity values.

This program, promoted by the Valencian Solidarity Fund, allows students from the Sociocultural and Community Services family at CIPFP La Costera in Xàtiva and IES Josep Segrelles in Albaida to undertake a training stay in the Andean country. The experience aims to complement their practical education and raise awareness about the importance of international cooperation from a municipal perspective.
For approximately one month, the four students will train in the municipality of San Ignacio de Chiquitos, located in the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz. The project's coordination is carried out with the Centro para la Participación y el Desarrollo Humano Sostenible (CEPAD), a leading local entity in the area.
The practical component is mainly developed at the Fundación de Ayuda Social de San Ignacio de Velasco (FASSIV), which works with 236 people with functional diversity to promote their social inclusion. Each student performs functions adapted to their training profile, ranging from integration activities in carpentry for self-employment to sewing and painting workshops for labor autonomy, collaboration in physiotherapy and early stimulation, and support for children with learning difficulties.

"It is fundamental to involve youth in international cooperation projects as part of their professional training."

Xelo Angulo · President of the Valencian Solidarity Fund
In addition to specific training, the stay includes participation in actions by the Valencian Solidarity Fund within development education projects such as “Being a woman in the South” and “Municipalities for Peace”. Once the experience concludes, the students will share their work through awareness sessions in their municipalities and educational centers, aiming to convey their experiences and raise awareness about the reality of Southern countries and the importance of international cooperation.
This project represents an international training opportunity that combines professional learning with direct experience of global solidarity, while strengthening the connection between the educational and municipal spheres in promoting solidarity values. Before the trip, participants underwent preparatory sessions and a technical workshop with the Fund and their educational centers, and were institutionally received by the entity's president and secretary.
