The Local Government Board of Torrent has approved the execution project for a new day center, which will involve an investment of 3.7 million euros to serve people with functional diversity and the elderly.

This new facility, which will be built on a municipal plot of 2,500 square meters currently used as surface parking, will mark a milestone in the city's social services. For the first time, Torrent will have a specific public resource for people with functional diversity, in addition to adding a second center for the elderly, complementing the existing La Marxadella space.
The center's design breaks away from the traditional institutional model. The project proposes a single-story building with near-zero energy consumption, integrating photovoltaic panels to ensure its sustainability. The location on Avenida Barcelona responds to the strategy of decentralizing services and bringing them closer to growth areas, where the demand for work-life balance and dependency support is increasingly high.
The interior layout has been designed to offer comprehensive care that goes beyond mere custody. The space will house rehabilitation rooms, healthcare units, and coexistence areas designed to help users maintain their autonomy in a safe and professional environment.

"It is a social investment that improves the quality of life for families and reinforces our commitment to a more inclusive city."

The execution of this work will be possible thanks to an economic alliance between administrations. The Diputación de Valencia contributes the bulk of the investment with 3 million euros, as part of the Pla Convivint of the Generalitat, while the Torrent City Council completes the allocation with 700,000 euros.
With the administration's green light, the project now enters the tender phase. Once the works are awarded, the estimated construction period is 14 months, marking the countdown for Torrent to launch a more modern, accessible, and, above all, long-awaited social care model for its residents.
