The town of Paterna is hosting a special program throughout April to celebrate International Book Day, commemorated on April 23, with activities aimed at fostering reading among children.

The Paterna City Council has designed a cultural agenda focused on promoting reading among young children and strengthening their connection with books from an early age. The Councillor for Libraries highlighted that the municipality engages annually in this celebration with a specific program designed to promote reading as a cultural and educational tool.
Planned activities include several storytelling sessions led by a narrator, starting this Tuesday, April 21, at 6:00 PM at the La Coma Reading Agency. The program will continue on Wednesday, April 22, at the Terramelar Reading Agency, followed by Monday, April 27, at the La Canyada Library, and concluding on Tuesday, April 28, at La Cova Gran.
The program also features the 11th edition of the Bookmark Contest, with the awards ceremony scheduled for April 28 at 7:00 PM. This year, the competition's theme is ‘STEM for boys and girls’.
Additionally, various STEM-themed workshops have been held throughout April in several municipal spaces. These include Spin Art Bolt at the La Canyada Library, Lightplay at the Terramelar Reading Agency, Espejos, Espejitos Mágicos at the La Coma Reading Agency, and Garabatobot at the La Cova Gran Library, where this part of the program concluded on April 10.
With this agenda, Paterna once again relies on its municipal libraries to bring reading, creativity, and imagination to children, centered around one of the most significant cultural events on the calendar.
