This appointment took place during the 8th Congress of the European Left Party, held in Brussels. At this event, European left-wing forces renewed their governing bodies and debated the main political lines for the coming years.
Key themes addressed at the congress included the defense of peace, social justice, workers' rights, feminism, the fight against the far-right, and the rejection of the militarization of Europe.
With this election, the EUPV councillor in Alboraia will also become part of the ELP Secretariat, consolidating the presence of the PCE, Izquierda Unida, and Esquerra Unida in the political leadership of the European left. Her new responsibility will focus on the international sphere, aiming to strengthen solidarity among peoples, defend international law, and foster cooperation with progressive and left-wing forces from other continents.
“"I assume this responsibility with enormous commitment and with the will to continue working to strengthen a European left capable of confronting the far-right, militarization, and austerity policies that threaten workers' rights."
Esquerra Unida has emphasized that this election represents recognition of the internationalist work carried out by the councillor and the role of Valencian militancy in building a useful European left, committed to peace, to Palestine, to the rights of peoples, and to the defense of public services against austerity and rearmament.
The European Left Party brings together communist, eco-socialist, and left-wing formations from various countries across the continent, serving as one of the main political coordination spaces for the European transformative left. This election places a municipal representative from l'Horta Nord in one of the ELP's governing bodies, reinforcing Valencian presence in international political coordination spaces.
