The VII Mobility Meeting has presented the new Sustainable Mobility Plan 2026-2035 for Paterna Technology Park, detailing 34 actions to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of daily commutes.

The VII Mobility Meeting, held at the Municipal Business Services Center in Paterna, served to present the new Sustainable Mobility Plan 2026-2035. This new roadmap contains 34 specific actions, grouped into six strategic axes, aiming to advance towards a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable mobility model for the business area.
This edition of the working forum, promoted by the EGM Parc Tecnològic Paterna, included representatives from the Valencian Government, the Paterna and Bétera City Councils, the Metropolitan Transport Authority of Valencia (ATMV), companies, and neighborhood entities. The space seeks coordination to address the park's mobility challenges.
The plan, funded by the Conselleria de Innovación, Industria, Comercio y Turismo and presented by Franscesc Arechavala from IDOM, proposes improvements in public transport, rationalization of private vehicle use, enhanced pedestrian and cyclist accessibility, promotion of new work organization methods, encouragement of electric mobility, and strengthening coordination among all involved agents.
Among the most notable proposals are the implementation of a Bus-VAO lane on the main access roads, and the creation of shuttle services connecting the park with strategic public transport nodes like the Empalme and Mas del Rosari stations. Actions to promote carpooling and optimize parking options are also contemplated.
The document also includes new cycling connections, accessibility improvements on pedestrian routes and public transport stops, the development of the park's Green Infrastructure Plan, expansion of charging points for electric vehicles, and the promotion of teleworking and flexible hours to reduce peak hour travel.
By 2035, the plan sets targets such as increasing public transport usage to 15% of daily trips (from the current 8.9%) and boosting carpooling to 20%. In parallel, it aims to reduce single-occupancy private vehicle use from 81.4% to 60%, increasing the average vehicle occupancy to 1.3 people.
The new plan continues from the one approved in 2019, showing positive progress: private vehicle use has decreased from 93.1% to 87.6%, and public transport has increased from 3% to 8.9%. Average vehicle occupancy has risen from 1.04 to 1.15 people.
However, the growth in business activity has increased pressure on infrastructure. The number of daily workers has risen from approximately 10,000 to nearly 15,000, and 85% of inbound trips are concentrated between 7 and 9 AM, causing traffic congestion.

"The plan recognizes that building a more sustainable business environment does not depend solely on one administration, companies, or workers, but on the joint involvement of all actors in the park's daily mobility. Only through this shared responsibility will it be possible to achieve the objectives set for 2035."

Manuela Pedraza · Manager of EGM Parc Tecnològic Paterna
The main conclusion from the VII Mobility Meeting is that improving mobility in the business area requires coordinated and sustained action over time, with the joint involvement of all stakeholders.
