The new EMT València regulation will allow free travel for companions of people with severe disabilities and reduce the response time for complaints, while also prohibiting electric scooters on buses.

The modification of the EMT València Service Provision Regulation will introduce several social and operational measures. One of the most notable initiatives is free travel for companions of people with severe disabilities who require assistance for their journeys. This measure, which responds to demands from the EMT accessibility board, will allow double validation on transport tickets to cover both the person with disabilities and their companion, promoting more inclusive mobility.
In addition to accessibility improvements, the new regulation will streamline the management of user communications. The response time for complaints, suggestions, and queries will be reduced from 20 to 15 days, aligning with national regulations set to come into force soon and improving citizen service.
These modifications are being incorporated during the ongoing process to prohibit electric scooters and other electric personal mobility vehicles (except bicycles and vehicles for people with reduced mobility) from accessing buses. This ban had already been approved by the EMT Board of Directors.
Other changes include the implementation of a protocol to regulate EMT staff's actions regarding fraudulent ticket use. The definition of usable ticket types will also be simplified, distinguishing between own and combined transport tickets, to avoid exhaustive lists that complicate regulatory compliance due to frequent changes.
