The College of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports of the Valencian Community has presented eight proposals for the conservation and rehabilitation of public works, included in the II Catalog of Actions on Public Works Heritage, aiming to preserve heritage and promote tourism.

This document, unveiled during the II International Congress on Public Works and Civil Engineering Heritage, held in Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante, compiles a total of 102 infrastructures across Spain that require partial or integral interventions, as well as improvements in signage or promotion.
The College emphasizes that these actions not only seek to preserve engineering heritage but also to boost economic activity through tourism, especially in areas at risk of depopulation.
Among the specific proposals for the Valencian Community is the comprehensive rehabilitation of the lighthouse on Tabarca Island to combine its technical use with cultural and educational purposes. Intervention on the San Jorge Bridge in Alcoy to reinforce its structure is also planned.
Other notable actions include the completion of the Via Augusta route at a regional scale, the recovery of the traditional irrigation system of l'Horta de València, and urgent intervention at the Castielfabib hydroelectric plant to ensure its stability.
The catalog also includes the rehabilitation of the docks of the Port of Valencia for cultural purposes, an integrated action on the channeling of the Turia River —including elements such as the Fàbrica Nova del Riu— and the enhancement of the Sagunto Port pier as a heritage and cultural space linked to the area's industrial identity.
