The city of València hosts the third edition of 'reading parties' at the Only You Hotel, an initiative that seeks to promote unhurried reading and connection among readers, coinciding with Book Day.

A hotel lobby transforms into an ideal space for reading and relaxation, away from daily rush. With this philosophy, the Only You Hotel in València celebrates the third edition of its 'reading parties', which will take place on Thursday, April 23, coinciding with Book Day and Sant Jordi.
Under the theme of readings about “customs,” a representative from the Lavidita company explains that this event opposes the speed of the modern world and understands literature as “a source of inspiration to reconnect with the magic of reading.” This format of gatherings is already held in sixteen cities worldwide, from Guatemala to Santander, bringing reading to hotels for those who wish to enjoy it without haste.
Attendees only need to bring their own book, related to this year's theme, to read in the company of other readers, with the music and atmosphere proposed by Only You. From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, they can enjoy two blocks of personal reading, combined with a talk and the participation of a Valencian illustrator and bookseller, who will lead a discussion on habits, creativity, and illustrated literature.

"It is an event born from the need to meet and share our ideas. To have a place where we can talk and read beyond screens and connect with other people in the city."

Inspired by the gatherings that took place in New York, 'reading parties' offer a space to meet and share a common hobby. To reaffirm this idea, on April 23 there will be roses, books, and much calm in a unique event that invites understanding reading “without haste and as a shared space.”
