The operation, named Zlata, led to the arrest of one person and the investigation of three others for potential public health offenses and professional intrusion. The network operated through social media and digital channels, offering aesthetic treatments without the necessary professional qualifications or health authorizations, and using unregulated medicines.
The investigation began in August 2025, when an organized structure was detected illegally acquiring large quantities of medicines in the province of Alicante. These products were then distributed to clandestine clinics throughout Spain, as well as to Lithuania and the United Kingdom.
The investigated individuals performed invasive aesthetic treatments without proper health training, operating outside legal channels and without the required health guarantees. Three homes in Reus and Pilar de la Horadada were searched, leading to the dismantling of clandestine clinics located in private residences and a drug storage center.
During the operation, 1,248 vials of botulinum toxin (Botox), 382 pre-filled syringes of hyaluronic acid, 269 vials of hyaluronidase, 51 containers of lidocaine, and 679 containers of various sanitary products were seized. More than 1,000 needles and syringes, computer equipment, documentation, and packaging/distribution materials were also found.
The Civil Guard warns that these illicit practices have become an emerging modality in the illegal market, with a growing impact on public safety and health, and a significant economic volume on an international scale.
