UJI hosts World Robot Olympiad, prelude to national final

Dozens of teams from across the Valencian Community have demonstrated their skills in educational robotics in Castelló.

The Universitat Jaume I in Castelló has hosted a new edition of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) competition, a key educational robotics event in the Valencian Community.

This competition, which qualifies for the WRO Spain 2026 National Final in Andorra la Vella, was organized by the Universitat Jaume I in collaboration with the Maker's Club Association and supported by the City Council of Castelló and the technology company Nayar Systems.
Throughout the day, dozens of teams from different parts of the Valencian Community showcased their skills in programming, robotics, problem-solving, and engineering. The winning teams were: Torrenova 1 (Robo Basic), Gamer's (Start), Biaker (Elementary), Los Informáticos (Rookie), Infiniti Maker's (Júnior), and ScubaBots (Sénior).
The organization has highly praised the competition, noting the increase in participating educational centers. More and more schools are integrating robotics, programming, and engineering activities, adopting innovative methodologies to prepare students for future technological challenges.
The WRO in Castelló brought together teams from across the Valencian Community who worked intensively on their projects. The event aims to foster scientific and technological vocations, promoting skills such as teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
The Universitat Jaume I reaffirms its commitment to STEAM disciplines and emerging technologies. The qualified teams will now begin preparations for the WRO National Final, representing the Valencian Community.
