Four Minors Arrested in Elche for Placing Objects on Train Tracks

Elche Local Police have arrested four minors accused of a crime against railway safety for placing objects on train tracks in the Altabix area, intending to cause a derailment.

The incident took place on April 9, 2026, when several patrols were mobilized following a citizen's tip-off reporting the presence of youths tampering with the Alicante-Murcia railway line.
Upon arriving at the specified location, officers found the minors on a bridge near the affected area. Upon detecting the police presence, the youths immediately attempted to flee.
Thanks to the swift coordination between Local Police units, the minors were intercepted, and the area was secured to prevent any risk. During the pursuit, one of the detainees fell and had to be taken to a health center for medical assistance.
