The Catalan player, currently on loan from Barcelona, suffered a shoulder injury late last year, just before the Christmas break. The injury occurred after scoring a goal, falling awkwardly following a tackle from an opposing player.
After undergoing surgery, Fort completed most of his rehabilitation under the supervision of Barcelona's medical services, returning to Elche two weeks ago. Currently, the full-back has participated with some normality in recent training sessions, although Elche CF is awaiting final authorization from the Catalan club to field him.
“"We are happy for his qualification, but as a club, we will make some decisions."
For the first time, Sarabia has set a specific date for the player's potential return, indicating that the club is already considering "shortening the recovery period." The coach admitted that Fort's injury significantly affected the team, as it came at a delicate moment in the competition with few alternatives for that position.
Furthermore, Sarabia also addressed the delayed return of Congolese player Grady Diangana, who was injured with his national team. The coach expressed his satisfaction with Diangana's national team qualification but hinted that the club would take action due to the player's delay in returning to participate in the World Cup qualification celebrations.
