Young Valentina Jordà Micó has been officially named Gandia's Child Fallera Mayor for 2027 in a ceremony held at the Ducal Palace, presided over by Mayor José Manuel Prieto Part.

The Ducal Palace of Gandia once again served as the venue for one of the most significant events in the city's Fallas calendar with the celebration of the 'demanà' for Valentina Jordà Micó. In this solemn gathering, the young girl was officially named Gandia's Child Fallera Mayor for the 2027 term, formally assuming the representation of the city's children during the upcoming Fallas festivities.
The Mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto Part, presided over the event and delivered words of recognition to the new child representative. Prieto highlighted that, despite her young age, Valentina has a notable and very active trajectory within the city's Fallas associative fabric. The mayor particularly emphasized her artistic sensitivity and her constant willingness to get involved in the local festive initiatives and activities. After the ceremonial speech, the mayor posed the definitive question to formalize the role. The young girl, affiliated with the Falla Carrer Major i Passeig commission, accepted the responsibility, stating to the attendees that she embraced the challenge «with all the enthusiasm in the world».
The event brought together a significant representation of institutional and festive figures from Gandia. Among the authorities present were the councilor delegate for Fallas, Adrià Vila, as well as several members of the municipal corporation. Representatives from the city's various Fallas commissions were also in attendance to support the new Child Fallera Mayor, alongside the president of the Federation of Fallas, Francisco Martínez, who led the Fallas delegation at the start of this new festival cycle.
With the confirmation of Valentina Jordà, the city's top representation for the upcoming festivities is now complete, a role that began to take shape with the designation of Lidia Marín Marzal as Gandia's Fallera Mayor. Both Falleras will jointly undertake the representation tasks for Gandia in what promises to be a very intense year for the collective.
This ceremony at the Ducal Palace continues an official agenda that began just a few days ago. The new representatives had their first institutional contact with local authorities during the welcome event held at the City Hall. In that meeting, the local government conveyed its support to the young women and emphasized the importance of their role as ambassadors of the values of the Gandia Fallas festival.
The path to the next Fallas will not be walked alone, as both Valentina and Lidia will be accompanied at each official event by their respective courts of honor, who have already been presented to the Fallas community at the Museu Faller. The children's group will feature strong representation from the Child Fallera Mayor's home commission, adding an extra emotional component for Valentina in the upcoming events.
