A court has dismissed the case concerning the death of a worker during reconstruction at a Massanassa school after the DANA storm, closing criminal proceedings against two employees and the company.

A court has dismissed the investigation into the death of a worker during reconstruction tasks at the CEIP Lluís Vives in Massanassa following the DANA storm. The judicial decision closes criminal proceedings against two Tragsa employees and the company, which had already compensated the victim's family.
The incident occurred in November 2024. The 51-year-old operator was inspecting and cleaning the educational center when a ceiling collapsed, killing him.
The police investigation, conducted by the Policia Nacional, led to the arrest of two men, aged 46 and 59, who were colleagues of the victim. According to police findings, a blow from heavy machinery to the structure caused the collapse. Consequently, the excavator driver and the supervisor of the works were charged with alleged gross negligent homicide.
The public prosecutor has acknowledged the possibility that the accident was due to an improper maneuver of the machinery, but also does not rule out that the building's condition, affected by the DANA, may have contributed to the collapse.
