This initiative arises from what they consider a deliberate blockade by the Ministry of Education, which ignores the constant demands of teachers. The situation is part of an ongoing conflict with major sector unions, such as STEPV, CSIF, UGT, and CCOO.
“"Teachers are prepared to intensify the conflict and sustain an indefinite strike until effective changes are achieved."
The consultation reflects deep and growing discontent in educational centers, where teachers perceive that the administration systematically ignores the reality of classrooms. According to the Coordinator, the inaction and lack of concrete proposals respond to a policy that progressively degrades public education, consolidating high student-teacher ratios, attacks on the Valencian language, lack of classroom climate control, salary loss, and preventing the necessary increase in staff.
Teachers reject the narrative that attempts to hold them responsible for potential harm to students, considering it "interested and unacceptable misinformation." The mobilizations aim precisely to prevent new cuts from being consolidated next academic year and to avoid perpetuating conditions that do seriously harm students.
Key demands include reducing student-teacher ratios, classroom climate control, teacher dignification, defense of the Valencian language, and increasing teaching staff to ensure dignified public education, with real attention to diversity and learning guarantees. The Coordinator has sought to convey a message of reassurance to families, ensuring that all students will be evaluated normally, provided the Ministry stops hindering the functioning and quality of the public education system.
