San Juan Night is approaching, and the Gandia City Council has detailed the measures to ensure a safe celebration. This year, bonfires will only be permitted on Nord beach. It has been specified that the wood used must be clean, without nails or other elements that could pose a danger, and the use of flammable liquids for ignition is prohibited.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Lydia Morant, has emphasized the importance of ensuring that bonfires are completely extinguished before leaving the beach. Furthermore, the prohibition of entering the sand with glass containers to prevent cuts and accidents has been reiterated.
Morant also called for caution regarding night swimming, warning that "lack of visibility increases risks." "We recommend that people enjoy the night prudently," she insisted.
For their part, the Local Police advise parents to exercise extreme vigilance over minors, given the large expected turnout. They also request citizen cooperation in maintaining beach cleanliness by using the designated bins for waste.
In case of any incident or emergency, citizens can approach the officers deployed on the beach or contact emergency services via phone numbers 112 and 092. "We want residents and visitors to enjoy a special night, but always with responsibility and respect for everyone's safety," the councilor concluded.
