During random inspections, twelve mopeds were checked, five of which underwent noise level testing. Two riders were fined for excessive noise and for modifying their exhausts, one of which was considered significant. The owners of these mopeds have been summoned to ensure the modifications have been removed and comply with regulations.
As part of the ongoing control campaign for Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs), the Local Police have impounded four electric scooters. Three lacked registration plates, registration, and mandatory insurance. A fourth scooter was traveling at 57 km/h, exceeding the regulatory limit. All riders were fined for these infractions, and in another case, for carrying a passenger. Another scooter rider was fined for exceeding 25 km/h.
Additionally, during a traffic stop last weekend, the driver of a van was fined for lacking mandatory insurance and failing the MOT (ITV). The vehicle was impounded and taken to the depot.
Separately, Local Police officers responded to the park opposite the San Antón hermitage following a report of minors causing damage. Upon arrival, they found a group of youths pulling up grass and contacted their parents to file the relevant administrative complaints.
