The meeting, which took place this Monday, was attended by representatives of the entity and the municipal government team. During the meeting, Cáritas presented the progress of its main projects, highlighting the opening of a socio-health resource linked to the Day Center for Homeless People, which offers medical, podiatry, and psychology care.
Furthermore, the launch of a transitional housing unit on Cardenal Cisneros Street was reported, designed to promote the autonomy of people in the social insertion process. Regarding the problem of homelessness, the expansion of the Street Team was communicated, which has allowed for strengthening direct intervention and creating an updated census of this reality in the city.
Another highlight was the presentation of the new Educational Support Service (Sarsalé), aimed at the Roma population and agreed with the Generalitat Valenciana. The entity also conveyed to the council the urgency of enabling a temporary social protection resource to address emergency situations.
“"This meeting strengthens the collaboration between Cáritas and the City Council in responding to social vulnerability in Gandia, a joint effort highly valued by the entity."
