The investigation into the death of Isak Andic, founder of Mango, has taken a new turn with the Mossos d’Esquadra deducing that his son, Jonathan Andic, visited the exact location of the fall four days before the incident. According to police inquiries, Jonathan drove to Montserrat on December 10th, 2024, and walked the same route his father would take on the 14th, the date of his death.
The Central Unit for Forensic Computing (UCIF) analyzed data from the 'Health' application on Jonathan Andic's mobile phone, comparing it with his father's phone records. This analysis allowed for the reconstruction of the duration and distance of the son's walk, as well as his presence at the precise spot from which Isak Andic fell. Investigators consider this fact another indication of premeditated murder.
Although Jonathan Andic reported his mobile phone lost during a trip to Ecuador in March 2025, investigators retain the data history, including records from the 'Health' app which counts steps and altitude. Mobile phone tower triangulation has also provided information on the time he spent in the area.
Magistrate Raquel Nieto-Galván, who is overseeing the case, detailed in a ruling that Jonathan initially proposed a walk in Montserrat to his father for Friday, December 13th, at 7:15 PM, an hour with darkness and few visitors. However, an unforeseen event caused the excursion to be postponed to Saturday, December 14th, at midday, when there was more light and more visitors.
License plate readers in the municipality of Collbató had already confirmed that Jonathan Andic drove to Montserrat on several occasions before the 14th, specifically on December 7th and 10th. The comparison of the 'Health' app data from father and son, along with records from phone towers and license plates, has allowed the Mossos to deduce Jonathan's prior preparation.
