The Councilor for Security and Emergencies of Castellón, Antonio Ortolá, presided over the awards ceremony for Comunicajove! 2025-2026 this Saturday. The event, held at the auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón, was also attended by the Councilor for Education, María España, the Councilor for Youth, Ester Giner, the Chief Superintendent of the Local Police of Castellón, Francisco Javier Catalán, and the responsible agents of the Local Police's Tutor Agent Unit. The day served to acknowledge the involvement of participating educational centers and the most active students in the program, highlighting their commitment to coexistence and the improvement of the school environment.
Councilor Antonio Ortolá emphasized the importance of the Comunicajove! program as an "essential tool within municipal prevention policies," particularly in the educational sphere. He highlighted that security is built "from anticipation, education, and support for young people." Ortolá valued the coordinated work between the Local Police of Castellón, through the Tutor Agent Unit, and educational centers, noting that "collaboration between institutions allows us to reach thousands of students with direct and useful messages." He added that "talking about school bullying, coexistence, social networks, or risk behaviors from the classroom is the best investment in security and future that we can make as a society."
For her part, the Councilor for Youth stated that Comunicajove! "very well represents what we want to do from the Castellón City Council: listen, accompany, and help our young people." She highlighted that the program, promoted by the Local Police and the Tutor Agent Unit, "demonstrates that prevention, education in values, and trust are fundamental tools for building a better city." The councilor praised the work of the Tutor Agent Unit, describing them as "trained professionals, specialized in minors and the educational environment, who work in coordination with schools, families, and municipal social services."
The Comunicajove! program has reached 11 educational centers this year, working with 70 classes from 1st and 2nd year of ESO, and has involved 2,811 students through 68 training sessions delivered by the Tutor Agent Unit of the Local Police of Castellón. These figures demonstrate the "intensity and quality of the work carried out," addressing fundamental issues for coexistence, prevention of risk behaviors, and responsible use of new technologies.
In the 1st year of ESO category, the third prize went to 1st ESO B of IES Politècnic, the second to 1st ESO B of IES Vicent Castell, and the first prize to 1st ESO B of Colegio FEC Madre Vedruna Sagrado Corazón. In 2nd year of ESO, the third prize was awarded to 2nd ESO G of IES Miquel Peris i Segarra, the second to Year 9 S of the International English School of Castellón, and the first prize to Year 9 N of the same school.
The gala concluded with a show of humor and overcoming challenges by Doscapacitados, featuring actor José de Luna and comedian Edu Lucky, who offered an inspiring message of inclusion and personal growth.
