The government of Vila-real, led by Mayor José Benlloch, has issued a strong statement in response to criticism from the local Popular Party, accusing them of creating noise and manipulating the truth about the future provisional parking.

The local executive of Vila-real has indicated that the statements by the Popular Party regarding the provisional parking near the Fundació Flors aim to divert attention from the regional government's "inaction" in investing in the city. According to the municipal government, the Popular Party is attempting to "generate noise" and "manipulate the truth" to conceal the Generalitat Valenciana's lack of commitment to Vila-real.
Regarding the management of the plot on Cordó street, the City Council has clarified that the property still belongs to Villarreal CF. The formal donation to the city is pending the Generalitat Valenciana's decision on the socio-health complex project to be built on that land.

"Given the Consell's inaction, we have decided — out of responsibility and dialogue with Villarreal CF — to give provisional public use to the plot."

This provisional measure will allow the new parking area to serve residents near the Estadio de la Cerámica. Benlloch's government team has denounced discriminatory treatment towards Vila-real compared to Castelló de la Plana, where similar projects are resolved more quickly.
The municipal government has questioned the local PP about the blocking of several essential infrastructures, including the future of the Torrehermosa health center, the closure of the Sant Llorenç elderly residence, the paralysis of the Pla Convivint (disability residence and brain injury center), and the situation of the new CEIP Escultor Ortells, the city's fourth high school, and the integrated institute of Building and Civil Works.
Finally, the Vila-real executive has accused the PP of acting as an "accomplice to the abandonment" by the Generalitat, asserting that, despite the "institutional mistreatment" and the legacy of "ruin" from previous governments, the city "does not stop" and will continue to demand the investments it is entitled to.
