Vila-real Informació celebrates its tenth anniversary with a five-chapter documentary series analyzing the city's evolution over the last decade, from crisis to current challenges.

Ten years ago, Vila-real Informació was born with the aim of reporting on the city's daily life. Now, a decade later, this journalistic archive not only informs but also allows for the interpretation of the evolution of a municipality that has gone through one of the most complex and transformative stages of its recent history. This documentary series has been produced through an interview with the mayor.
Since its founding, Vila-real Informació has established itself as the local digital newspaper, offering close, constant information closely tied to the municipal, social, and economic reality. During these ten years, it has been a direct witness to economic, social, and political changes, from the financial crisis and the technical bankruptcy of the City Council to the years of recovery and growth, including the impact of the pandemic and new economic uncertainties.

A decade of information turned into memory.

To approach this retrospective, the newspaper has used an in-depth interview with the mayor as the narrative thread. Far from being a conventional format, the interview serves as a documentary basis to analyze decisions, interpret stages, and contextualize key moments in the city. The statements allow for the reconstruction not only of the facts but also of the political vision that has guided municipal management during this decade.
The objective of this series is not only to review events but to offer an organized reading of the changes experienced by Vila-real. From the crisis inherited in 2011 to the present, the city has gone through different phases that explain its current situation. This retrospective look allows us to understand how certain decisions were made, what impact they had, and how they have conditioned the municipality's development.
The series is structured into five chapters that cover the main stages of this process: the legacy of the crisis and economic survival; the change of model from 2016; consolidation until 2019; the disruption caused by Covid and international crises; and, finally, the present and future challenges for Vila-real in the 21st century. Vila-real Informació has also prepared other activities to celebrate its tenth anniversary, which will conclude with a commemorative event at the end of May.
