Vila-real commemorates Sant Jordi and Book Day with its traditional Valencian book stall in Mossén Ballester square, an initiative aimed at fostering reading and the use of the native language.

For over three decades, the city of Vila-real has celebrated Sant Jordi and Book Day with an event now firmly established in the local cultural calendar. This initiative, promoted by representatives of Acció Cultural del País Valencià (ACPV) and Plataforma per la Llengua, once again brings literature in the native language to the city center.
The book and rose stall will be open to the public from 10:00 to 20:00. Throughout the day, citizens will be able to find a varied selection of titles in Valencian, in a proposal that seeks to encourage reading and promote the social use of the language.
Furthermore, the exhibition pays special attention to local authors from Vila-real and the surrounding region, with the aim of giving visibility to local literary production and strengthening the link between culture, territory, and linguistic identity.
Additionally, the cultural association Socarrats reminds that next Saturday, April 25, within the framework of the Vila-real Book Fair, the entity will present the latest book by a local author. The presentation will be at 11:00 at the Molí la Vila and will include an interview prepared by two collaborators.
