The city's library centers will remain open throughout the summer and also during the patron saint festivities. The main novelty this year will be the creation of a new study room on the first floor of the University Library of Knowledge (BUC). This space will be available both in the morning and afternoon, aiming to meet the needs of students during the holidays.
This initiative, promoted by the Department of Education, seeks to expand municipal spaces dedicated to study, a measure expected to be particularly useful for students preparing for exams or academic work. The BUC will open this room from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
During the summer period, the Central Library will offer services from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Meanwhile, the children's libraries will also be open from Monday to Friday, with public attention from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
“"Libraries are also an leisure alternative during the summer holidays, a space where citizens can continue to enjoy reading, culture, and learning in a quiet and accessible environment."
In addition to the loan service, the City Council emphasizes the role of these facilities as meeting points to foster reading habits and bring culture closer to children, young people, and adults. Councilor Vicens noted that these facilities "contribute to the dissemination of values and offer an educational leisure proposal." The Department of Education encourages citizens to continue using the municipal library network during the summer months for reading or for quiet study spaces.
