The risk of ceramic pieces detaching has necessitated action on the facade of the Carinyena Health Center in Vila-real. The Ministry of Health will allocate 161,000 euros to an intervention that includes repairing cracks, rebuilding window lintels, renewing expansion joints, and consolidating areas affected by material falls.
The project stems from a technical analysis of the building, constructed in 1990 and located on Illes Columbretes street. The report identifies fissures, joint damage, and tile detachments. One of the main areas of concern is at the rear of the building, facing a pedestrian walkway, where pieces have already fallen.
Technicians have also detected vertical fissures near windows and doors, cracks in the corners, and deteriorated tiles, particularly around the main expansion joint. The plan includes removing window frames and shutters where necessary, as well as replacing construction elements.
The objective is to eliminate areas with detachment risk and ensure the facade's durability. The works will be planned to minimize disruption to the center's healthcare activities and user traffic.
