The 'Barri a Barri' initiative aims to maintain direct contact with residents, understand their concerns, and gather proposals for improving each area of the municipality. The mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Neighborhoods and the Councilor for Public Roads, as well as other members of the government team, visited the Sant Pere neighborhood to speak with residents.
Among the main demands conveyed by residents are the improvement of signage in the area, the installation and replacement of waste bins, the painting of the stairs of the Sant Pere gate (the only preserved intact gate of the ancient medieval wall), and action on the lighting of a saint in Sant Pere street itself. These requests aim to improve the general condition of the surroundings and ensure better conservation of the urban environment.
“"The best way to govern is by being on the street, listening directly to the residents and knowing firsthand what each neighborhood needs."
The City Council has assured that it has already taken note of all the requests and will work to resolve them as soon as possible, prioritizing the most necessary actions in the daily lives of Onda's citizens. The 'Barri a Barri' campaign has consolidated itself as a fundamental tool to strengthen citizen participation and bring local administration closer to the residents, allowing for more effective, agile, and tailored management to the real needs of each neighborhood.
Through these periodic visits, the government team gathers neighborhood proposals, while also supervising the condition of streets, squares, and infrastructure on site, facilitating more efficient planning of municipal actions. The Onda City Council will continue to develop new 'Barri a Barri' sessions in the different neighborhoods and scattered areas of the municipality, thus reaffirming its commitment to close, useful, and people-centered management.
