The Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure, and Territory has promoted the development of micro solar plants in Castellón, with 46 projects currently being processed in 25 municipalities across the province.

These photovoltaic installations collectively amount to a total power of 463 MW. The Generalitat manages plants up to 50 MW, while larger projects fall under the responsibility of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
The municipalities with the highest installed power are Morella (83.3 MW), Onda (56.94 MW), and Segorbe (51.04 MW), which together account for almost 42% of the provincial total. In contrast, locations such as Useres, Traiguera, and Nules have smaller-scale initiatives, with 1 MW, 1 MW, and 1.62 MW respectively.
In Onda, Salinas Energy, a subsidiary of the Swiss company EBL, will construct two photovoltaic plants. The first, PSF Onda Sichar I, will have a power of 16.7 MW and 19,684 solar panels, with a budget of 8.8 million euros. The second, PSF Onda Sichar II, will involve an investment of 10.7 million euros, an installed power of 20.5 MW, and 24,164 photovoltaic modules.

"We have sought to accelerate the development of photovoltaic energy with regulatory modifications aimed at reducing bureaucracy and speeding up processes in the face of the avalanche of accumulated files in recent years, while more continue to be registered."

The Generalitat has indicated that these measures are being implemented while maintaining environmental guarantees and processes to gather feedback from groups and municipalities, in order to adapt each project to its territory. Other municipalities with projects include Alcalá de Chivert (23.75 MW), Almassora (25.57 MW), Ares del Maestrat and Villafranca del Cid (27 MW), among others.
