An industrial fire at a recycling plant in Onda has mobilized firefighters and forced the preventive evacuation of nearby homes.

The fire, which broke out on Sunday, remains active and is affecting part of the recycling material and the interior of the facilities. Personnel from the Provincial Fire Consortium of Castellón are working intensively on its extinction.
Due to the risk posed by the smoke, several homes in the Bovalar area have been preventively evacuated. The emergency response team remains deployed on the ground to control the situation.
The Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Center has activated Situation 1 of the Valencian Community Territorial Emergency Plan. The Onda City Council has convened the Local Operational Coordination Center (CECOPAL) to monitor the fire's evolution.

"It is recommended to limit exposure and remain indoors with doors and windows closed, as well as sealing possible air inlets from outside to prevent smoke from entering."

Health authorities warn that surgical masks are not effective against smoke and advise using FFP2 masks if necessary. For individuals with respiratory or cardiovascular diseases, it is recommended to contact a health center if symptoms worsen.
