Vinaròs launches the campaign ‘Augmented Reality. Smart tourism with Mediterranean soul’ to boost tourism management and improve the experience for residents and visitors through technology.

The Councilor for Tourism, Mercedes García, presented the initiative aimed at highlighting the work done to consolidate Vinaròs as a tourist destination adapted to the sector's new needs. This project integrates new technologies to optimize services and offer a better experience, while preserving the municipality's Mediterranean identity.
The campaign features a visual proposal that merges real images of the municipality with digital graphic effects, symbolizing the integration of intelligent tools. The creative treatment, based on selective pixelation and the contrast between the physical and the technological, demonstrates how innovation modernizes services and invites discovery of Vinaròs from a new dimension.
As part of the campaign, a promotional video will be released, and a street marketing event will take place on Thursday, June 18th, in the Plaza de San Agustín, opposite the Market. This event will provide information on projects funded by the European Union and distribute waterproof mobile phone cases. All information is available at dti.vinaros.es.
Among the actions already completed are improvements to the tourist website, the installation of a digital information totem (available 24 hours), an intelligent buoy for water quality control on the coast, sensors in the Barranco Triador to prevent floods, and an air quality measurement device.
Looking ahead, plans include a new, more accessible tourism website, enhanced digitalization of the Tourist Info, a tool to manage Vinaròs as a destination for sports tourism, a new intelligent buoy, a promotional landing page, a cognitive virtual assistant, and a tool to analyze public perception of tourism.
Mercedes García emphasized that the project reflects Vinaròs' commitment to a humane and respectful tourism model. The Intelligent Destination Platform modernizes the visitor experience with digital solutions, strengthens sustainability with tools to measure environmental impact, and protects natural heritage. Advanced technology improves the municipality's safety, mobility, and efficient management.
This project has been financed by the European Union - Next Generation EU, under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain.
