The Torrent City Council has announced the opening of the application period for two important lines of aid for the 2025/2026 academic year: canteen grants for Early Childhood Education (0-3 years) and subsidies for educational centers and associations.

Through these calls, the council aims to facilitate work-life balance, reduce social inequalities, and promote educational projects that improve the quality of teaching in Torrent.
The canteen aid call is directed at students aged 0 to 3 years enrolled in authorized nursery schools. The City Council will allocate 250,000 euros to this line, with aid potentially reaching up to 500 euros per beneficiary. The objective is to partially cover the cost of school canteens, especially for families with economic needs, with family per capita income being the primary evaluation factor. Families registered in Torrent with all household members residing there since the start of the 2024/2025 academic year can apply.
The application period for canteen grants will be ten working days, from Wednesday, June 10, to June 23, submitted through the City Council's electronic headquarters.
Furthermore, the regulatory bases for educational subsidies for the 2025/2026 academic year have been approved, with a budget of 50,000 euros. These grants aim to support initiatives that enrich the educational activities of publicly funded centers and encourage the participation of student and family associations. The subsidies will be distributed into five categories: teaching materials (7,000 euros), expansion of school library collections (7,000 euros), innovative pedagogical experiences (8,000 euros), cultural and extracurricular activities (8,000 euros), and support for associations (20,000 euros).
Eligible projects include educational innovation, reading promotion programs, cultural activities, environmental sustainability initiatives, or family involvement in school life. The aid will also be awarded through competitive bidding, considering aspects such as support for disadvantaged students, inclusion of special education students, family participation, educational innovation, and environmental respect.
The deadline for submitting applications for these subsidies will be fifteen working days, from June 10 to July 1, also through the municipal electronic headquarters.
With these two lines of aid, the Torrent City Council reaffirms its commitment to accessible and quality education, supporting both families and the centers and associations that contribute daily to the integral development of the student body.
