The Generalitat aims to transform this enclave into a tourist, environmental, and sustainable attraction pole. The action will be carried out on a 3,550 m² plot located on the second line of the beach.
The project, budgeted at 2.3 million euros and with an execution period of 12 months, will be carried out, barring last-minute changes, by a UTE composed of Cyes Infraestructuras and Vareser 96. Initially, the cost was estimated at €191,000, but once the project was drafted, the amount turned out to be more than 10 times greater.
The plot where the actions will take place is located in the Torrenostra area. Once the project is completed, it will feature a bike park (area with a shower for bicycles), benches, pergolas, numerous bike racks, and trees, with natural or recycled materials and finishes. There will also be a picnic area with innovative equipment, a calisthenics zone for various ages, and a children's play area with natural flooring and wooden elements.
In addition, there will be a viewpoint with stairs, a panoramic elevator, and a terrace located at a height of 16 meters. It will incorporate a pre-installed area to house a kiosk in the future. Its official name will be El Mirador del Prat, and from its summit, one will be able to see the Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Sierra de Irta.
The work will be completed with the planting of native tree species and medium-sized vegetation to integrate and blend it with the surroundings. The aim is for visitors to enjoy an open space where access to and visual perception of the landscape are preserved and enhanced.
This initiative is part of the Plan of Actions on the Coast and Enjoyment of the Seashore (PACMAR), a program that seeks to improve accessibility to the coast, increasing the use and enjoyment of the coastline, promoting pedestrian and cyclist mobility, and valuing inclusive and social integration policies.
