The town of Oropesa del Mar is preparing for the 24th edition of the Trobà d’Orpesa, an encounter of trades, customs, and traditions that this year expands its space with 222 stalls and new art exhibitions.

This event, declared a Provincial Tourist Interest Festival, will take place from Thursday, April 30 to Sunday, May 3, 2026. The main streets of the urban center, such as Leoncio Serrano, Castelló, San Isidro, Ribera Forner, Ramón y Cajal, and Doctor Clará, will be transformed into a grand stage of popular culture. As a notable novelty, the space is expanding with the installation of stalls also in the Plaza Mayor, totaling 222 that will combine history, craftsmanship, and traditional products.
The official inauguration will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 5:30 PM, with the presence of local authorities and the festival queens. Another novelty of this edition is the incorporation of an art exhibition in the tourism room of the municipal library. Here, visitors can see the exhibitions “Poble Antic d’Orpesa” by Miguel Mancheño, and “Gent dels Masos, Herois de la Muntanya” by Raúl Segura Arín, which will offer a pictorial vision of the local heritage and identity.
As is tradition, the Trobà will feature an extensive program of demonstrative and participatory workshops. Both adults and children can learn about traditional trades such as clay modeling, ceramic decoration, pottery wheel, chocolate lollipop making, jewelry creation, leatherwork, or the raku technique, among many other proposals.

"From the Department of Commerce, we are excited about organizing this fair once again, where many artisans and small merchants can showcase their products and services. We encourage residents and visitors to come and enjoy the May long weekend in Oropesa."

The program will be completed with traditional recreations and cultural performances from various parts of Spain, such as the Grup Castelló, the Jolduak of the Ituren Carnival, Els Armats del Vendrell, the Danzantes de la Gaita de Cervera del Río Alhama, the Paloteo de Baños de Valdearados, and the Gigantes de l’Alcora. Local talent will also play a leading role with the participation of the Escola de Danses Orpesa, the vocal group l’Antina, and the Escola de Dolçainers i Tabaleters l’Embolic d’Orpesa, reinforcing the event's identity.
One of the most emotional moments will be the recognition ceremony for the “Trobadors Il·lustres 2026”, a tribute to individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth of this fair. Additionally, characteristic and highly anticipated elements such as the traditional goose parade through the venue will return, adding a charming and fun touch to the program. The Trobà d’Orpesa hopes to continue consolidating itself as one of the main hallmarks of the town, reaffirming its position as a reference event in the province that combines tradition, culture, citizen participation, and economic revitalization of small businesses.
