The traditional "mujolada", a fellowship lunch for the Misteri d'Elx family, celebrated its second consecutive edition this Saturday, returning to life after eight years of absence.

The celebration, which was revived last year, took place this year at the Hunters' Hostel, as the Casa de Vistabella, its usual venue, is undergoing renovation works. The organization is confident of returning to the traditional location once the work is completed.
The event brought together around sixty people linked to the ilicitana La Festa. The gathering, which began at 11 AM and lasted until nearly 2 PM, maintained its simple and traditional character, offering typical local gastronomic products such as coca, alioli, brevas, and, of course, mullet, the fish that gives the meeting its popular name.
The revival of this tradition stems from the desire to strengthen ties between entities historically linked to the social and cultural life of Elche. According to Roque Bru, president of Riegos de Levante, "we were very clear that we wanted to re-establish this lunch, because we are a community that has always been very connected to Elche society, and that cannot be lost".
