The City Council of Castelló, through the Department of Youth, provides spaces for young musical creation with the Tetuán XIV Music Boxes rehearsal rooms, which were featured in the Tetuán XIV Music Boxes festival this Saturday.

The city of Castelló hosted this Saturday, June 13, a new musical event with the Tetuán XIV Music Boxes festival. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Youth, allowed five local music groups to showcase their talent to the public. The councilor for this area, Ester Giner, highlighted the opportunity the festival represents for the city's young musicians.
The event took place at La Terrassa de Tetuán, located in the Partida Bovalar, near the Tetuán XIV Music Boxes rehearsal spaces, situated in a former military barracks. The bands performing were Misèria, Killer Ducks, Disonantes, Moshdown, and Linòpia. Admission was free for all attendees.
Giner emphasized the City Council's commitment to spaces that foster creativity and youth culture, providing free resources for the growth of bands and solo artists. The Tetuán XIV Music Boxes rehearsal spaces are part of a cultural revitalization plan and are open almost year-round, hosting numerous young musicians from the city.
To use the five rehearsal rooms, users must be between 12 and 30 years old. For groups, at least 50% of the members must reside in Castelló de la Plana. Reservations can be made via email (tetuan@music-boxes.es), phone (964 217 490), or in person.
During the current academic year, over 600 users have utilized these facilities, with approximately 60 regular users. Each room is equipped with a full drum kit, a 12-channel mixing desk, microphones, speakers, and furniture, in addition to offering technical advice for demo recordings.
Giner reiterated that Tetuán XIV Music Boxes serves as a place to rehearse, learn, create, and perform, promoting music as a tool for expression and coexistence.
The spaces are open from September to June, with morning hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10:00-12:00) and Saturdays (10:00-14:00), and afternoon hours from Monday to Thursday (17:00-20:30) and Fridays (until 21:00). During July and August, operating hours are reduced, and the first two weeks of August will be closed.
