Castelló's Nit de l'Art will celebrate its eighteenth edition on May 8 and 9, 2026, offering over 130 multidisciplinary artistic proposals that will transform the city into a hub for contemporary creation.

This cultural event, reaching its majority, reinvents itself to unfold 48 hours of free, accessible art. The initiative aims to take root in every corner of the urban territory, with up to 80 locations hosting the diverse activities.
The program includes more than 130 proposals covering dance, theater, performances, poetry, music, circus, workshops, guided tours, installations, and exhibitions. The presentation of this edition, along with its poster, took place at Castelló City Council.

"Reaching 18 editions confirms the solidity of an event that has managed to grow from local to global without losing its essence. Nit de l'Art is today an essential event that positions Castelló as a cultural benchmark and ratifies the city's commitment to first-class culture."

Vicent Sales · Acting Councillor for Culture at Castelló City Council
Organized by the Castellón Contemporary Art Association, Nit de l'Art is sponsored by Castelló City Council, the Provincial Council, and the Generalitat Valenciana through the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana and the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC). Collaborators also include Al Port, Universitat Jaume I, and Ruralnostra.
The director of Nit de l'Art, Yvonne Bacas, highlighted the strong response to the open call, with nearly 700 proposals from up to 21 countries, demonstrating the project's growth and its ability to resonate in diverse contexts. For his part, Nicolás Bugeda, managing director of the Consorci de Museus, affirmed that the Generalitat reinforces its commitment to this event, which already holds national prestige.
Art will occupy streets, squares, studios, cultural spaces, and unconventional venues, expanding its circuit with new additions. Notable locations include the Auditorium and Congress Palace, the Central Market, the Ribalta Park Bandstand, and Hernán Cortés Square. El Grau will play a leading role with the inaugural event at the Edificio Moruno on Friday, May 8, at 5:00 PM, featuring the dance performance Colores and the collective exhibition Art a la Mar.
The 2026 program is structured around a wide diversity of disciplines, including nearly 50 exhibitions, five installations, and a record 17 performances. There will also be nine workshops, four musical parades, fashion shows, poetry and flamenco recitals, concerts, dance proposals such as Amas by Colectivo Hambrientas, theater, children's activities, guided tours, round tables, art markets, and large-format circus with Baraka Circ and Ave de Fuego.
Additionally, the Open Studios routes are expanded, with 16 studios organized into four tours, fostering interaction between artists and the public. Nit de l'Art is configured as a cultural ecosystem where amateur and professional, emerging and established, coexist, with the involvement of institutions, collectives, and local creators.

"The strength of the Nit is having given weight to culture in complex times. Without it, what life do we have? Art is sustenance. We are short of oxygen, and artistic expressions are a channel to navigate humanity with enthusiasm."
