Benicàssim Hosts 2,500 Runners in Half Marathon and 10K Fobesa

Benicàssim has successfully hosted the Half Marathon and 10K Fobesa, bringing together approximately 2,500 runners in an intense sporting weekend that solidifies the event as a prominent fixture in the province of Castellón.

The main day of the Benicàssim Half Marathon and 10K Fobesa concluded with a very positive outcome, reaffirming its position as one of the most promising sporting events in the province. The 2,500 participants enjoyed a flat, fast, and seaside route, which allowed them to discover some of the municipality's most emblematic locations in a festive atmosphere and with strong public involvement.
From early morning, Benicàssim transformed into a true sports festival, with runners and companions filling the streets and generating a significant impact on the municipality's activity throughout the weekend. The mayor of Benicàssim, Susana Marqués, highlighted the positive effect of these initiatives in revitalizing the municipality and projecting it as a leading sports and tourist destination.

In the sporting arena, the Half Marathon featured a high level of competition. In the men's category, victory went to Nacho Safont Femenia with a time of 1:08:38, while in the women's category, Mariló Sanz Orenes triumphed with 1:22:29. For the 10K distance, the winners were Iván Muñoz Lacedón (00:33:23) and Nuria Conejos García (00:38:18).
The organization, led by Run and Friends and Turesport, with sponsorship from various companies and collaboration from the Benicàssim City Council, expressed its satisfaction. Pedro Nebot, from the organization, noted that the atmosphere and runner response exceeded expectations. Meanwhile, Santi Estévez praised the solid organization and the carefully curated runner experience, and Pablo Sospedra highlighted the great reception of the event, confirming the project's promising future.
Beyond the competition, the event was part of a weekend of activities that involved local businesses, hospitality, and services, reinforcing its character as a complete experience combining sport, tourism, and economic revitalization. The organization is already working on consolidating the event for future editions, aiming to continue positioning Benicàssim as one of the leading running destinations in the Valencian Community.
