The Almassora City Council has announced the bullfighting program for the Santa Quitèria 2026 festivities, which will feature a total of 15 fighting bulls from renowned ranches, reinforcing the local tradition.

The bullfighting program, combining tradition and passion, stands out for the significant participation of local clubs, considered key protagonists in the organization and promotion of this high-level event. The bullfighting week will begin on Saturday, May 16, at 12:00 hours with the traditional bull run of six bulls from the Extremaduran ranch Carmen Valiente.
Among the bulls that will run through the streets are Elegante (No. 42) and Todojuego (No. 19), sponsored by the City Council. Other specimens such as Pescador (No. 32), Embajador (No. 35), Divertido (No. 5), and Acomplejado (No. 29) will be sponsored by various clubs including Sant Roc, El K-Nut, Gent del Bou, Juventud Taurina, A.C.T. La Picaora, El Jaleo, and El Bureo.
After the bull run, at 13:00 hours, one of the two town bulls, also sponsored by the City Council, will be released. In the afternoon, starting at 18:00 hours, the second town bull will be exhibited along with another specimen sponsored by the Sant Roc and El K-Nut clubs, marking the beginning of an intense bullfighting week.
The program will continue on Sunday, May 17, with the release of two bulls from the bull run, and throughout the week, specimens from ranches such as San Martín, Monteviejo, Sergio Centelles, and Arcadio Albarrán will be presented, with the support of numerous clubs. On Thursday, May 21, the day of the solemn transfer of Santa Quitèria, exhibitions will begin at 17:00 hours with bulls from Los Ronceles and El Pilar.
The closing of the bullfighting program will be on Saturday, May 23, with two high-level specimens from Toros de El Torero and Las Monjas. Throughout the festive week, the bulls exhibited in the afternoon will be embolados starting at 23:30 hours in the Plaza Mayor or La Picaora, completing a program that combines tradition and continuity.

"The involvement and effort of all the clubs are key for Almassora to have a high-level bullfighting program. The 'bous al carrer' represent a fundamental part of our festivities and our popular culture, a tradition that is maintained thanks to the commitment of the fans."
