The Finestrat council has rejected the PSPV-PSOE's request to review the hiring file of Vanesa Soler, who recently secured a director's secretary position on secondment at the Diputación de Valencia with a higher salary than her previous role. This decision has drawn criticism from the opposition.
The denial is based on a non-binding report by the general secretary, Jorge Cuerda Mas, who argues that there is no automatic right to indiscriminately obtain copies. The report suggests that, according to the Regulation of Organization, Functioning, and Legal Regime of Local Entities (ROF), direct and personal consultation of municipal documentation should be offered first.
“"The documentation requested by the PSPV-PSOE does not fall within any of the free access provisions outlined in the ROF, hence the request must be dismissed as stated."
The mayor, Natividad Algado, signed a decree this Monday resolving the denial of the file. Vanesa Soler began working at Finestrat Town Hall in 2007, following Honorato Algado's victory, who hired 34 supporters of the Popular Party, including Ms. Soler, the daughter of a party proxy.
For two and a half years, Soler served as director's secretary for the Department of Human Resources, then headed by Pilar Martínez Salazar. She was an interim civil servant until 2024, the year her position was stabilized. Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca was mayor of Finestrat between 2015 and 2025, before replacing Carlos Mazón as president of the Generalitat.
